After pre-purchase ZED X ONE , I checked that the ZED X ONE with No lens option was added to the store. I wonder if there is a guide for replacing the ZED X ONE lens. (including whether it is possible to change it to narrow after purchase with the Wide option.)
If you disassemble the camera body, you’ll get to just one half shell and the lens. Apply heat and the glue will break down. You’ll need to clean the threads very well before being able to install a new lens.
@hanj did you end up trying this lens replacement? How did you go, was it fairly easy?
@brandonskyways I’m hoping to replace the wide lenses on a pair of X One 4K camera with a much more narrow lens around 60deg fov. Do you see any reason why this wouldn’t work?
@system If removing the glued lens is not possible, then are we able to order from Stereolabs the front-half of the X One housing as a spare part? That we I could swap that front half of the housing onto my existing X One cameras, leaving me with an empty lens thread on the front ready for me to try my own lenses?
I can’t imagine you’ll have any issues with a 60deg lens. If you bought your units with the lens, keep in mind that you REALLY need heat to remove the lens and you REALLY need to clean out the threads before you’ll be able to thread another lens in.
