Hardware/Software:
- Jetson AGX Orin, L4T 36.3.0, kernel 5.15.136-tegra
- 3× ZED X Mini Stereo (GMSL2), ZED Link Quad
- ZED SDK 5.1.0, stereolabs-zedlink-quad v1.4.1
After upgrading from v1.2.0 to v1.4.1, no cameras are detected by ZED_Diagnostic. On v1.2.0 the cameras were working but timestamps drifted over time, I upgraded hoping to fix synchronization.
Camera serial numbers are visible in the kernel log, so the GMSL links and I2C devices are found. However, no /dev/video* devices are created and ZED_Diagnostic reports 0 cameras.
I attach the dmesg.txt output and the ZED_Diagnostic_Results.json.
Thanks
UPDATE: If I uninstall stereolabs-zedlink-quad and reboot, then reinstall stereolabs-zedlink-quad after boot, the camera probing succeeds.
But then, if I restart the system, the probing during booting phase fails again
Hi @LeoBrizi,
Can you run again the diagnostic tool with this command:
sudo ZED_Diagnostic -c
This will provide the full diagnosis of the system.
Do you have any issues while using the latest 5.2.3 version of the ZED SDK?
Hi @mattrouss,
ZED_Diagnostic_Results_no_reboot.json : booting with no driver installed, then installing the driver.
ZED_Diagnostic_Results.json : booting with the driver already installed.
I did not try to use the SDK 5.2.3, but it seems to be a problem of the driver, not the SDK.
Thanks
Update to ZED SDK 5.2.3 and ZED link 1.4.1
ZED_Diagnostic_Results.json (51.5 KB)
After the update, the trick of before is not working anymore. I cannot detect cameras even reinstalling the ZED link driver
Hi @LeoBrizi, thank you for sharing the files, we have taken a look.
Which AGX Orin board are you currently using? Is it an AGX Orin Developer Kit 32Gb from NVIDIA? Or from another vendor?

Hi @mattrouss, you’ve been like Socrates, your questions have sparked doubts in me that help my knowledge grow.
I discovered that the kit I’m using is from the Aetina vendor. After updating everything, I replaced the overlay with a custom one, and now the cameras are detected and operating properly.
P.S. Should I update the topic title to make it easier for others with the Aetina devkit to find?
Hi @LeoBrizi, great to hear that this solved it
If you can change the title with a mention to the Aetina board that would be great.
Could you also please share for others to find:
- the Aetina AGX board model you are using
- the ZED SDK version you are using that is functional
- the Aetina ZED X driver version you are using that is functional

I cannot change the title of the topic.
I cannot share the AGX board model and the overlay file.
The ZED SDK version is 5.2.3 and the ZED X driver version is the 1.4.1.
If you cannot share the name of the board publicly, you can share it via email at support@stereolabs.com. We would just like to validate whether the board is part of our officially supported systems, and make sure that this issue does not happen again for other customers.
I can take care of changing the topic title
