ZED X One GS Narrow at 20–40 cm?

Hi,

I am evaluating the ZED X One GS for a close-range industrial inspection setup.

My working distance is 20–40 cm, and I need to inspect small plastic pins/components of about 4 cm height and 1 cm diameter on a conveyor. I want to detect whether each one is present, deformed, or missing.

My main question is about the optics:

  1. For this distance, would you recommend the 4 mm narrow version?

  2. Can the standard ZED X One GS lens achieve sharp focus at 20 cm, or is a custom / lensless S-mount setup better?

I plan to use this with Ultralytics YOLO on a ZED Box Orin NX.
