Zed X Blurry/Soft Image Quality

We recently set up the ZedX with the quad link to a Jetson Orin AX. When we first initialized the Jetson/Zed with Jetpack 5.1, the image quality was quite grainy/noisy (first image). We then updated the Jetson and drivers to 6.1. Installing the Stereolabs driver actually broke the Jetson drivers and we had to reinstall the Jetson driver. Now the image quality coming out of the Zed X is soft/blurry at default settings. Don’t think lighting is necessarily the main issue (not bright light but phone is measuring ~100-120 lux near our desks)

Anybody have pointers?

I also have the same blurry problem, which is exactly what you said. ZED_SDK_Tegra_L4T36.3_v4.2.2 with Jetpack 6.0 was perfect, but ZED_SDK_Tegra_L4T36.4_v4.2.2 with Jetpack 6.1 had the same problem.
I am using NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64gb dev. Kit. Please fix this. Thanks!

The Hardware team is investigating the cause of this problem and a fix will be released in the next patch release of the ZED X Driver and ZED SDK.

We apologize for the inconvenience; the issue appears to be caused by an OS update beyond our control.

Should we downgrade the JetPack version?

I’m not sure this can solve the issue, but you could try to take it this way.

Meanwhile, we are discussing the issue with NVIDIA to identify together the cause of the problem and fix it.

Do you have any latest updates on this? Waiting on a resolution before getting more cameras.

We are still working on this together with NVIDIA.
The holiday season slowed down the tasks on both sides.
We plan to release a fix soon.

I have applied your latest patch version of 4.2.3, but nothing was changed.
Is this patch not related to this issue?
Thanks for your effort.

They are not related indeed

Hi Dev Team,

Has this issue been replicated on your end?

We would like to know which combination of SDK and Jetpack is currently recommended by Stereolab’s as a workaround to this issue.

Could you provide some additional details as to what the issue appears to be ?

Cheers

Hi @PradeepSan
the issue concerns the new behaviors of the denoiser filter in JP6.1/JP6.2.
It’s no more working as expected, and it’s no longer possible to set the “blurring strength”; hence, when the denoiser is turned on, you can only grab blurred images.

For this reason, we disabled the denoiser with the new driver v1.2.2, waiting for a working fix.

I confirmed that the issue was dealt at ZED X driver (v1.2.2) and JetPack 6.1. Thank you for your effort, and hoping that the issue will be resolved completely!
