ZED SDK support for Isaac ROS 4 on Ubuntu 24.04 / ROS 2 Jazzy?

Hi,

I would like to use AprilTag recognition for my setup with a ZED2i, following this tutorial:

However, I have run into a compatibility issue:

  • The Isaac™ ROS release described in the tutorial does not support Ubuntu 24.04 and ROS 2 Jazzy.

  • The 4th Isaac™ ROS release, which does target Ubuntu 24.04 / ROS 2 Jazzy, does not yet support the ZED SDK.

As a result, it currently seems impossible to use ZED cameras with Isaac™ ROS on Ubuntu 24.04 / ROS 2 Jazzy.

I wanted to ask whether there is a planned timeline for ZED SDK integration in the 4th Isaac™ ROS release. If support is expected soon, I could wait; otherwise, I will need to switch to alternative solutions for AprilTag detection.

Alternatively, do you have any suggestions or workarounds to address this issue?

Welcome to the StereoLabs community.

Unfortunately, Isaac ROS v4 is not yet officially supported by the ZED ROS2 Wrapper.

We plan to release an official version supporting it as soon as possible. Expected release Q1 or Q2 2026.
