Zed camera being overwritten during spatial mapping

Hello,

I have a Unity scene that is using Zed AR passthrough. I have been working with a Varjo X-4 headset (I know this is not a tested headset but trying to see if I can get it to work with Zed). There is a quirk when combining these technologies where only during the spatial mapping process the camera in the headset view is switched to use the headsets passthrough instead of Zeds.

IE when entering play mode (before spatial mapping has started) both the game view in Unity and the headset view show passthrough from the Zed. Then once I have started the spatial mapping process, the game view in Unity still displays the Zed passthrough. However the headset view now displays the headset passthrough instead of Zeds. Both views still display the blue spatial mapping outline. After I have stopped the spatial mapping process both the game view in Unity and the headset view show passthrough from Zed again.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening? I have been trying to debug but cant get to the bottom of it. I am also going to be asking this to the headset support team. Thank you!

Hi @fallygal,

Were you able to reproduce this kind of behavior with other samples using the ZED SDK and AR passthrough?

If possible, I would like to ask you if you can test on another VR headset that we officially support to see if the issue is specific to your headset.

Sending a message to the Varjo support team may be a good idea as well.
