ZED Box Orin cannot power after being charged overnight

My ZED Box Orin cannot power on after being left on overnight on power. Now it shows no power at all (no Power LED, no fan, no HDMI signal).

Symptoms

  • Completely unresponsive: no LEDs or fan spin.

What I’ve tried

  1. Fully disconnected both DC barrel and any PoE (none connected now), waited a few minutes, then DC-only power on.

  2. Removed all peripherals (HDMI, USB devices, Ethernet) and try power the ZED box on but failed.

  3. I currently don’t have a USB-A ←→ Micro-USB cable to test OTG/Force-Recovery.

Given the above, could you advise next steps? I can provide photos/videos and any additional info required.

Hi @Yixun-Hu
Welcome to the Stereolabs community.

This is a required test before proceeding further.

OK, Let me buy one and test

I charge it with DC 12V power supply and plug the USB-A Micro-USB cable. The power light wasn’t on. Should I try to power it using PoE+?

I cannot flash the Zedbox using the OTG port following this guide. Specifically, I went through power cable procedure and device flash guide. The device does not boot into Force Recovery mode in the end. And I cannot power it on. The only thing I am thinking of it to try to use PoE+ cable to power it on. Otherwise, I think we may need a RMA.

Remove both Poe+ and Power Supply cables to turn on the device. It will not turn on if one of them is plugged.

Did you remove the PoE+ cable and use only the Power cable?

The reason is described in the Troubleshooting guide.

Yes, I actually tried to remove both Poe+ and Power Supply, only plugging in the OTG. It cannot detect the Orin.

Yes, for the Troubleshooting - Stereolabs , I remove the PoE+ cable and use only the Power cable.

I guess it is because the hardware failure.

I guess I used 120W DC power suppler to charge it? But actually I don’t if it may become the real reason since I didn’t open the box and test the motherboard

Please connect the Original power cable with this setup (only OTG connected) and then verify that the host detects the Box in Recovery mode.

Don’t you have the original power adapter?

Hi

2 of the 4 Zedbox we have exhibit the same behaviour…It seems there is an issue with the internal power since they are completely dead. Unfortunately both are out of warranty.

I connect the Original power cable with the 12V batteries. It cannot detects the Box in Recovery mode.

No, I don’t have a original power adaper, I have 12V batteries with low power watt and high watt power adapter (~120W) DC power.

How can I go through a RMA process? Or you indicate that I need to replace it?
