Ubuntu 24.04 support?

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 24.04 and tried to install the latest Zed SDK 4.1 but it gave me a libqt related error. Is 24.04 currently supported?

If not, is support planned soon or should I downgrade to Ubuntu 22.04?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @asneab2
Welcome to the Stereolabs community.
The ZED SDK has a CUDA dependency.
We will release a version compatible with Ubuntu 24.04 as soon as NVIDIA will release CUDA, CUDNN, and TensorRT for this OS version.

Seems like everything has been updated now, release anytime soon?

The ZED SDK team is working on implementing all the required adaptations and maintaining quality and reliability.

Is there a beta release that I can access and use meanwhile?

No, it’s not available

I have unknowingly upgraded to Ubuntu 24.04.01 and now I am having issues with the wifi drivers. What are my options? Downgrade to 22.04 or try something else?

Thanks,
Ambrose

What device? Desktop, Laptop, NVIDIA Jetson, ZED Box?

I’ve got the Zed Box Orin NX

The ZED Box cannot work with Ubuntu 24.04.
NVIDIA does not provide drivers for this version of Ubuntu.
It is required that you reset it to factory settings by following this guide to recover the full functionalities.

I don’t have access to an Ubuntu machine to act as the host computer to perform the flashing. Could I instead install Ubuntu 22.04 on the ZED box directly and then upgrade itself afterwards?

Also, when will there be a release that’s going to be compatible with 24.04?

Just when NVIDIA will release an L4T BSP based on this version.

Hi,

I tried following the instructions and keep getting this issue (please see screenshot). The host machine is Ubuntu 24.01 and I have qemu-user-static installed already.

Could you help?
Thanks,
Ambrose

Hi @ambrose
can you please point me to the “instructions” you followed.
Are you using WLS or a virtual machine as the host?

This guide that you signposted me to in your previous post: Reset your ZED Box Orin NX - Stereolabs

Are you using WLS or a virtual machine as the host?

Are there any updates in this regard?

It seems

  • TensorRT (https://docs.nvidia.com/deeplearning/tensorrt/release-notes/index.html#rel-10-4-0)
  • cuDNN (https://docs.nvidia.com/deeplearning/cudnn/latest/installation/linux.html#ubuntu-debian-network-installation)
  • CUDA

are available for Ubuntu 24.04 by now. Is the missing support currently held back by Stereolabs? Thank you for the help. Kind regards

It will come with the SDK v4.2.2 imminently

Now that SDK 4.2.2 has been released, is there an updated estimate for Ubuntu 24.04 support
