I’m currently waiting for my ZED X to arrive, but in the meantime I’d like to start developing and testing my Python scripts with the ZED SDK. The stereo camera is part of an ambitious project for 3D scanning of vineyards in Tuscany, part of a regionally funded project (CSR Toscana).
Since the stereo camera is not guaranteed to arrive by the end of 2026 and to speed up pipeline development work, I was wondering if there were any sample .svo datasets available to download and use for testing purposes. Having access to such a file would allow me to set up my pipeline now and then seamlessly switch to live camera input.
If anyone could share a sample.svo file, I’d really appreciate it.
Unfortunately, we do not yet provide public SVO samples recorded with the ZED X. The samples currently available were recorded with the ZED and ZED 2 cameras, and you can download them from this support page: Are there any video/image samples from the ZED products?
They are still a valid starting point for your pipeline: when an SVO file is opened, the ZED SDK behaves as if a camera is connected, and all the modules (depth, positional tracking, spatial mapping, etc.) are available through the same API. The only change required to switch to the live ZED X is the input source in InitParameters; the rest of your Python code remains the same.
