Problem with Argus demon with ROS2 "multicameras - 4xZEDX ORIN AGX 32GB ZED Link Quad"

Hi everyone,
I encountered a problem when using the “zed_multi_camera” example.
When using 2x ZEDX, there was no problem and neither with 3x ZEDX.
When I tried to use 4x ZEDX, an error occurred when opening the stream from the 4th ZEDX and the program froze in an error. When I tried to open all 4xZEDX in “ZED_Explorer” at the same time, there was no problem, nor when I changed the serial number when using 3xZEDX “zed_multi_camera”, so the HW is probably fine.
I also have HW sync turned on on the “ZED Link Quad” and activated in “zed_x_demon” according to the documentation recommendations.
For your reference, I am adding info from console and “URDF” used config.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing these details.

A few questions regarding your issue:

  • Can you confirm your current setup :
    • Current Jetson board, Jetpack and power mode used
    • ZED SDK version ( if not already, please update to SDK 5.2.3 and try again)
    • ZED X Driver version ( if not already, please update the drivers to 1.4.1)
    • ROS2 version
    • Does this issue happen all the time when you’re trying to set up 4 cameras in ROS - even after restarting the daemon ? Your txt file suggests an argus issue which would mean a camera failure. Have you tried reducing the resolution and grabbing fps when using it with 4 cameras?

sorry, I forgot to send the answer to the last question.

AGX Orin devkit 32GB

power mode - MAXN

…the nvargus service runs without interruption and problems, there is no
need to restart it, the next launch of “multicam” calling only 3xZEDX (any
one) will run without problems…

…I reduced the parameters in “zedx.yaml” to 10FPS and 1080 resolution, it
does not affect the problem…

…to make it a little easier to find the error, I am sending a newly
created “syslog.txt”, where there is only the start and the error when using
4xZEDX, it is very transparent to see what happened…
