Polarizing Filter for Indoor Firefighting

Dear StereoLabs Community,

I’m working on a research project regarding an autonomous mobile firefighting robot. I plan to use a ZED X Camera and wonder if i should use a polarizing filter. Experiments will happen indoors but there will be a burning object about (50 x 50 x 50)cm big on a small metal stand. The camera is mainly for assessing the flame and partly for navigating the mobile robot. Distance to the burning object is about 2-8m.
One thing to consider is the change in illumination when the fire gets extinguished.

I would really appreciate your insight, thanks!

Hi @nicooblisz
Welcome to the StereoLabs community.

The polarizing filter is only required outdoors to reduce the amount of the flare and glare effects generated by the vertical component of the sunlight waves.
