Point cloud degradation after ZED 2i camera reboot in software

Hello,

I’m investigating an issue when using a ZED 2i with the 4.1.2 SDK in python. Sometimes when the camera is rebooted via software, the point cloud quality degrades substantially, meaning most of the scene is not captured and there are positional inconsistencies compared to usual. My question is: is this a known issue with the 4.1.x SDK, and would it be fixed by upgrading to the latest version (5.0.7)?

Thank you!

Hi @andyl,

This is not something that we’ve noticed in the past, so I am not sure upgrading to 5.0.7 will definitely help this.

Do you have screenshots of the images and point clouds before and after the reboot? I suspect that the reboot could have changed the parameters of the camera, leading to different results from the depth algorithm.

Hi @mattrouss, could I please reach out to you directly via email? The images from the last incident may contain sensitive customer information that I cannot share on a public forum. Thank you for your help!

Hi @andyl,

Yes definitely, please share your images to support@stereolabs.com, with the link to this thread so we can track it down.
