Performance Comparison: ZED X vs. ZED X ONE in Stereo Vision

Hi Team and Community,

I’m interested in understanding the performance differences between the ZED X and ZED X ONE when used as stereo vision cameras.

Currently, there are limited performance figures for the ZED X and almost no data available for the ZED X ONE.

I’d appreciate any insights on the following:

  1. Depth Over Distance Plots – What do these plots look like for both cameras?
  2. Manufacturer Data – Can Stereolabs provide these plots for both cameras, including the ZED X ONE with varying baselines?
  3. Published Accuracy Values – Are there any official accuracy measurements for the ZED X ONE in stereo configuration? The current datasheet does not seem to include this information.

For reference, here is a 2018 study by WASCHMASCHINE discussing ZED accuracy:
Questionable ZED Accuracy? · Issue #44 · stereolabs/zed-sdk

Looking forward to any insights. Thanks!

Hi @PradeepSan
it’s not possible to provide the requested information concerning dual ZED X One virtual stereo cameras because they depend on the customer setup can manual calibration.

You can read more here.

Hi Myzhar,

I see that numerical performance data exists for the ZED X datasheet, but no official depth-over-distance plots have been shared. Can you provide more details or release these plots for the ZED X?

Additionally, regarding the ZED X ONE, should we expect higher or lower performance compared to equivalent ZED X stereo setup, assuming optimal calibration?

We will release this information when available.

If you perform the same optimal calibration you should expect the same performance.
