Origin Z of ZEDX mini spatial measurements

Hi,I’m using a ZEDX MINI,

I used the DepthViewer software to measure the distance to an object. What does the measured distance represent? Is it the distance from the object to the surface(the front panel) of the ZED X Mini, or the distance from the object to the optical center of the left camera of the ZED X Mini?

Another question: what is the distance from the optical center to the surface of the ZED X Mini?

I found a topic in the community, it shows the distance from the optical center to the surface is 2 cm? is it correct?

Hi @wangchunyi120

The depth map contains the values of the perpendicular distance of each pixel to the plane of the camera sensor.

20 mm

That’s correct

So,Each ZEDX Series Camera, the distance from the optical center to the surface is 2cm? including ZEDX MINI , ZEDX , 2.2mm or 4mm?

Then, if I use ZED DepthViewer, I measured an object which shows a distance of 100mm, the distance of the object to the surface of my ZEDX is 80mm?

This is correct.

Theoretically, this is correct.
