Hello Team
I am currently working on a project where I need to analyze the roughness of various surfaces, such as roads or pavement. Surface roughness refers to the irregularities or variations in height at different points of a surface, typically measured by the variations in the surface’s texture or depth over a given area. The goal is to capture these variations accurately to assess factors like wear, tear, and degradation.
I’m considering using the ZED 2i camera for this task, specifically leveraging its depth-sensing capabilities to detect small irregularities and variations in the surface. I would like to know if the ZED 2i camera is suitable for measuring surface roughness, and if so, what specific techniques or SDK features I should use to obtain precise roughness measurements.
Are there any depth post-processing methods or filtering options that would help improve the detection of small surface irregularities? I’m also interested in whether using normal map extraction or other methods could enhance the accuracy of roughness quantification.
Any insights or recommendations for measuring surface roughness with the ZED 2i would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
