Magellan GPS GNSS in Unity

Hello Stereolabs,

Magellan sounds incredibly exciting — amazing work!

I’m currently using two ZED 2i cameras on a Windows 11 system with an i9 CPU and an RTX 4090 (planning to upgrade to a 5090 soon). My robot’s brain runs in Unity, where I’m doing high-speed decision logic, sensor integration, and 3D visualization. I also plan to integrate XR features later this year.

My question:
Can I inject live GPS (GNSS) data into Magellan while using the ZED SDK 5.0 through Unity?

If Magellan’s localization fusion with GNSS is accessible via Unity (or through a supported native API I can call from Unity), it would be a total game changer. I’d strongly consider standardizing on ZED 2i cameras across multiple future robot builds.

Thanks for your time and brilliant work on the SDK!

Best regards,
James

Hi,

The feature is currently not available in the Unity plugin.
We did not add it because we did not think ingesting GNSS data was something Unity users would need, but I guess we were wrong.

I’ll share your request internally, and we’ll discuss if/when we plan to work on this feature. I’m not against adding it, but it’s always a matter of resource allocation and task prioritisation.

Best regards,
