Dear Support Team,
I am writing to you on behalf of Mirs Robotics.
We are currently experiencing a peculiar issue with a ZED X 4mm camera, which loses its connection without any apparent reason.
The device is in perfect physical condition and has never suffered any impact. The GMSL connector on the camera itself appears to be in excellent shape and seats properly. However, we have identified that the problem lies precisely there: to get it to link properly, we have to manually wiggle or move the connector, and it only connects if we get lucky.
In our lab, we have 10 other ZED cameras and ZED Boxes running continuously without any issues. Occasionally, this affected camera reconnects when moving the cable/connector, but it doesn’t always work; it often goes through long periods where it “dies” completely. In this state, nothing seems to restore the connection—neither rebooting the Jetson, restarting the ZED daemon service, nor swapping in other GMSL cables.
We would like to know if this could be caused by a bad internal solder joint on the GMSL connector, a firmware error, or an internal software misconfiguration.
Below, I am attaching the error logged when launching ZED_Studio, along with the diagnostic file information:
-
Error Log:
zed_studio_log.txt (9.7 KB)
-
Diagnostic File:
ZED_Diagnostic_Results.json (19.0 KB)
Thank you in advance for your guidance regarding this issue.
Best regards,
Daniel Mendez
