Inquiry Regarding the Functionality of ZED2i Camera in Infrared Illumination Conditions

Dear ZED Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today to seek some information regarding the ZED2i camera, a product that I am currently using for my project.

My project involves working in low-light conditions, specifically in darkness. However, I am able to provide supplementary illumination at 940nm infrared. I am interested in understanding if the ZED2i camera can function effectively under these conditions.

Could you kindly provide some insights into the camera’s performance in such scenarios? Specifically, I am interested in knowing:

  1. Can the ZED2i camera capture and process images effectively in darkness with 940nm infrared illumination?
  2. If yes, are there any specific settings or adjustments that need to be made to the camera to optimize its performance under these conditions?
  3. Are there any limitations or potential issues that I should be aware of when using the ZED2i camera in this manner?

I would greatly appreciate any information or resources you could provide to help me optimize the use of the ZED2i camera for my project.

Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,

Sage

Hi @Sage

It cannot. The optics of the camera mounts an IR filter to work in sunlight conditions an the 940nm infrared component is filtered out.

The ZED 2i can only work in visible light conditions.
