Creating a Zed Stereo Camera in other 3D environments

Hello,

At dSPACE we’ve received a query from a customer in the UK regarding the creation of Virtual stereo cameras for testing automated farming software. We have a virtual environment platform similar to isaacsim called AURELION and we’re wondering whether it would be possible to port the isaacsim virtual camera implementation to other 3D game engines.

We’re working with Unreal Engine 5 at the moment and we do a have plugin development mechanism in AURELION that can grab our virtual camera’s frame from the GPU. I would like to know your recommendation for taking two camera frames and packaging it to interface it with the SDK via IPC similar to how it’s done for Isaacsim.

Apologies if there’s some misundersatnding from my regarding this. We’ve only implemented a pure hardware solution using 3D screens for the ZED stereo cameras prior to this.

Regards
