Cannot update Zedbox to Jetpack 6.2 - Device failed to boot to the initrd flash kernel

We have 3 x Zedbox with the Jetson™ Orin NX 16GB. I am trying to upgrade them to Jetpack 6.2 from the factory installed version 5 using a computer running Ubuntu 22.04 and the supplied USB cable. I managed to upgrade 1 after retrying the process, but cannot upgrade the other 2. I get the same error every time:

Timeout Device failed to boot to the initrd flash kernel. Please retrive the serial log during flashing to debug further.

I have confirmed that the they are in recovery mode.

I am using the script from Stereolabs: https://download.stereolabs.com/scripts/zedbox_all_usb_flash_6.2.sh

It is very frustrating that it worked once, but not any of the other times…Especially since it takes such a long time to get to the error.

  1. Is there any other way to perform the upgrade?
  2. Is there any other steps that I need to take?
  3. How do I retrieve the serial logs?

The terminal logs contain the following information:

Hi @kempffg
Welcome to the Stereolabs community.

When this error appears, I recommend rebooting the host device and retrying the flash procedure.

I managed to flash both Zedboxes by:

  1. First selecting 25W as the power supply
  2. Then following the same procedure as before, but this time using a 10cm USB cable instead of the long cable that was supplied with the Zedbox.

I will try only one of the steps next time to confirm which step solved the issue.

Please add more information about this point. What were you using before?

The default setting of 15W, see attached photo.

This normally affects only the runtime performance; I do not believe this can change anything when you reboot the Jetson Module in Force Recovery Mode…

Correct, it was only the short USB cable. I confirmed it with another update.
