Camera Zed X Mini not detected by Zed Box Orin NX 8GB

Hello, I’m currently having a problem with my ZED X Mini camera not being detected by a ZED Box Orin NX 8GB.
Any help in locating and solving this problem is most welcome.

Diagnostic results
At the bottom of the post, you’ll find the diagnosis generated by the ZED_Diagnostic tool.

Actions already tried (without success)

  1. I reassigned the rights to the ZED Box user, as indicated in a post I had followed to solve a similar problem in the past.
  2. I tried to reinstall ZED-Drivers using the latest version available, but it returned the following error:

dpkg: error processing archive ./stereolabs-zedbox-onx8_1.2.1-SL-MAX9296-ALL-ZEDBOX-L4T35.3.1_arm64.deb (–install):
trying to overwrite ‘/boot/stereolabs/tegra194-p2822-0000.dtb’, which is also in package stereolabs-zedx 1.0.2-SL-MAX9296-L4T35.3.1
dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe)

Complementary information

  • The ZED Box Orin and the ZED camera are connected with a GMSL2 Fakra F-F cable. I only have this cable, which prevents me from testing another or connecting the camera to another device.
  • In a previous context, the Orin ZED Box was connected to the camera, and everything worked perfectly. Since then, the camera and ZED Box have been moved, involving disconnection and reconnection.
  • To the best of my knowledge, the ZED Box, the cable and the camera have not been damaged. However, it is possible that the camera has been subjected to vibration (without any impact).

Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards.

Hi !

Before installing a new package, we advice you to uninstall the previous one to ensure all files are clean from the previous package.
sudo dpkg -r stereolabs-zedx
sudo dpkg -i stereolabs-zedbox-onx8_1.2.1-SL-MAX9296-ALL-ZEDBOX-L4T35.3.1_arm64.deb

Concerning the rights to the ZED Box user, it’s always a good thing to reassign them just to be sure.

Let me know if it fixed your issue,
Best

Hello, thank you for your help, unfortunately the problem persists the ZED camera is still not detected, even after uninstalling then re-installing the drivers and re-giving the rights. The ZED_Diagnostic gives the same result.

From your first message, I can see that the installation of the package failed due to ‘/boot/stereolabs/tegra194-p2822-0000.dtb’
It seems that the uninstalling isn’t working right. Try deleting the /boot/stereolabs/ folder before installing the package. There might be some .dtb staying in it that shouldn’t

Unfortunately, the problem persists, same error, same diagnostic.

It seems you have some corrupted files that block the update. I advice you to reflash your board if it is possible. That way we can ensure everything is clean for a new driver version to be install. Here is a link to our official guide : Reset your ZED Box Orin NX - Stereolabs

It took a while but I reset the zed box, then restored the rights, in the end nothing changed, same problem and same diagnosis, I think the problem must come from either the cable or the ZED X.
Thanks anyway for your help.

Please share the new report files from sudo ZED_Diagnostic --dmesg and ZED_Diagnostic obtained after the reset.
Please also send a picture of your setup.

Of course, here they are:
ZED_Diagnostic_Results.json (5.1 KB)
dmesg.log (14.6 KB)
