I’m entering a robotics competition where I need to build an auv and I’ve been looking into getting a stereo camera as the front camera. I wanted to use raspberry pi with blueos or ardusub. I was thinking of somehow integrating a stereo camera and Jetson combination with that but I don’t really have much experience with this. I wouldn’t need to detect distances further than 5-8m but I’m mainly worried about integration. I was thinking going with zed mini but if anyone has better options that would be appreciated:)
Hi @krush10n
Welcome to the Stereolabs community.
The only limitation is your budget.
Economic solution:
- Jetson Orin Nano + ZED Mini (USB3)
Intermediate solution: - Jetson Orin Nano + ZED Link Mono + ZED X Mini (GMSL2)
Expensive solution: - Jetson AGX Orin + ZED Link Duo + ZED X Mini (GMSL2)
THanks! What is the purpose of the ZED link mono/dual? I don’t really understand what it is for. ALso how much better is the zed X mini compared to the zed mini.
ZED Link Mono allows you to create custom stereo vision configurations. Read more here.
They are two different products. The ZED Mini is designed to be used in AR applications, the main target of ZED X Mini is robotics.
This comparison table provides more information concerning the differences.
