I’m using the ZED 2i with the official StereoLabs USB C to A 5m cable, and it’s connected through two USB 3.0 panel type connectors.
I’m using USB 3.1 repeaters at each stage, but between the panels, I’m using a USB A to A Male cable. However, this part currently doesn’t have a repeater, and the length is about 1.8 meters.
Do you have any experience with using a USB A to A male active cable or something similar?
If the panel type USB connectors are short (around 1 meter or less), they don’t cause any issues at the moment.
I checked the cable issues on the forum and found that using only official cables is recommended. However, given the application, USB panel connectors are necessary.
Hi @jed-roboe,
Welcome to the Stereolabs forums
Indeed, in the general case we recommend using the official cables from Stereolabs as these have been tested and validated extensively with our cameras.
We do not have specific experience with using a repeater on USB A Male to Male cables, but I would suggest you try a cable with an active repeater as this usually solves USB reliability over larger distances.
